Communication. With all the technologies available, if people don't make it work, it doesn't work
I think this is a terrible thing, when we need it most. How can we control a pandemic if people don't understand important messages? For example, we need to KNOW our audiences. Sure, not everyone speaks English - but, not everyone is literate in their own language! Or, there may be cultural and social barriers that have not been considered. Well, this is the obvious example.
Ah, and then there's the classic - "It hasn't been done? I thought YOU did it!"
"No, I didn't do it, ____was supposed to do it" And on and on that goes. Therefore, NO ONE DID IT!!!!
.Today I tried to respond to a letter from a government body, but, on their site there's nowhere to respond. Unless, I would like to follow them on various social media platforms!!!!! What bright spark set this up? Considering the majority of their clients would not even know what these platforms are! How on Earth can they not know this???????
Same lot who put a robotroll through everyone's account and threatened them if they did not pay up! When, no money was due in the first place! "Who did that?" "I didn't do it? ""Did you do it?"
And no one apologised. So much stress, anguish, even suicide! Could not one PERSON have demonstrated some compassion? Oh well, system generated error...
Maybe the most maddening of all, is people assuming you know all about this or that. How can I possibly know if you've never told me????? This happens a hell of a lot! Hey, they're busy. As if that excuses it. I'm busy too. So what?
Take the time to communicate!
This is of no use. Communication has not taken place. And without it, we are useless. No amount of machines can help if people do not put some effort into genuinely communicating with others.
